About this place
The standout detail of the tongue at Thousand Mountain Grill is its plum sauce, served instead of lemon. Some diners have also praised the chewy texture of both the tongue and mino, making them appealing choices when texture matters as much as seasoning.
The yakiniku menu includes tongue, kalbi, premium kalbi, premium loin, harami and mino. One diner paired the tongue with plum sauce, then ordered kalbi and grilled liver followed by harami, enjoying everything apart from the tongue with the house sauce. They found the sauce boldly garlicky and said it kept them reaching for another bite. Starting with plum-sauced tongue and moving on to kalbi or harami with the house sauce lets each cut bring a different flavour to the meal.
Some diners have ordered rice and bean-sprout namul alongside their grilled meat, a combination that makes the meal feel complete. Another way to begin is with a beer and tongue, then add whichever cuts take your fancy.
Beyond the grilled meats, menu listings include stone-pot bibimbap, Korean pancakes, vegetable jjigae with vegetables, tofu and meat, udon jjigae and beef-tendon hot pot. One diner also enjoyed kimchi and warm noodles to finish, so there are options to round out the meal as well as to make meat the main event.
